Health Care Aide (HCA)
CommunityPlus is looking for experienced Health Care Aides to provide compassionate, person-centred care in clients' homes across Vancouver Island. As a home caregiver, you'll work one-on-one with seniors and individuals with complex care needs — building meaningful relationships while supporting their independence, comfort, and dignity. Visits range from a single hour of companionship to 24-hour live-in care, and no two days look the same. We're BC's only private Living Wage-certified home care employer, because we believe the people who do this work deserve to be paid what it's worth.
What You'll Do
- Personal care — bathing, dressing, grooming, mobility assistance
- Homemaking — light housekeeping, laundry, meal preparation
- Medication reminders and administration support
- Companionship and social engagement
- Transportation and community escort
- Dementia care and behavioural support
- Palliative and end-of-life care
- Visits from 1 hour to 24-hour live-in care
Requirements
- BC Care Aide Registry number
- Current CPR/First Aid certification
- Clear TB test

As an RN with our team, you'll conduct assessments, develop and manage care plans, coordinate with physicians and Island Health, and provide clinical supervision and education to our caregiving staff. This role combines hands-on nursing with leadership — you'll have a direct impact on care quality across your caseload.
