On the West Coast — Tofino, Ucluelet and the Clayoquot communities — CommunityPlus provides skilled home care to families living at the end of one of the Island's longest and most beautiful drives.

The remoteness that makes the Coast special also makes reliable care essential, and we plan for the realities of Highway 4 and small-town services. Our caregivers assist with personal care, medication support, meal preparation, mobility and companionship, and accompany clients to and from appointments at Tofino General Hospital and into the Valley for specialist care when needed. We're transparent about rural and remote travel time so there are no surprises. Services range from a single weekly hour to 24-hour support, all nurse-supervised. As Vancouver Island's only private Living Wage–certified provider, we keep experienced caregivers long-term — the difference between hoping someone shows up and knowing they will.

Skilled Caregiving

Personal care, homemaking, meal support, medication administration, companionship. From 1 hour per week to 24 hours per day.

From $50/hr

Home Nursing

Licensed Practical Nurses and Registered Nurses for wound care, post-op monitoring, medication administration, and clinical assessment.

LPN $80/hr · RN $103/hr

Overnight Care

Asleep night care or vigilant (awake) night care for clients who need overnight supervision, repositioning, or medication support.

From $300/night

Live-In Care

21 or 24-hour live-in care for those who need around-the-clock support while remaining in the comfort of their own home.

I had workers from Community Plus for 2 weeks after I recovered from surgery. They helped me with showering and dressing and some meal preparation. All the women arrived on time. They are well trained and confident in their work which made me feel comfortable in having them care for me. As well, all the women that I had giving me care had pleasant personalities. They were also efficient in the kitchen when doing meal prep and managed their time well. The administration of Community Plus have been very reliable and timely in responding to my queries and changing requirements.

This team is amazing! Caring, attentive, knowledgeable and client-centred care is at the heart of what they do. Over the years, team members have gone above-and-beyond to support my elderly parents with physical mobility supports. I know I can rely on Community Plus Care to help me coordinate escort/driving to regular scheduled activities, emergency and new appointments. They always communicate important information to/from the family members. The care staff have come to know both my parents and we consider them just like our family.

I was no longer able to provide needs of living services and some personal care for a younger relative with some mental health / brain damage related issues. I had searched extensively for the kind of help my relative and I needed and was feeling desperate and worried all the time. Then my doctor's nurse suggested Community Plus as worth investigating. The initial experience and ongoing care relationship has satisfied everything I needed and hoped for. I am so pleased with the service provided!

My mom had 2 care workers from Community Plus and they were both really great. My mom loved her time with them. They always went above and beyond to care for her. As a daughter I knew the days her care workers were with her that I didn't have to worry about anything. A plus I would recommend Community Plus to others as needed.

I contacted Community Plus on a Saturday afternoon at 4 pm. My call was answered by one of the coordinators. Impressive! Within 16 hours, the intake process was completed, a draft care plan was on record, and they had scheduled a home safety assessment for Monday. We have not had to use their home care services yet, but everyone we spoke with on the admin side was responsive, caring, professional, flexible.

My elderly mother needed care after she broke her hip and I live on the other side of the country. Mom had varying needs from temporary overnights, longer day shifts for bathing, light housekeeping, etc. All the care workers were lovely and kind. My mom and I have no hesitation in recommending this company.
